Why a 5-pack?

Chobo publishes short-form, accessible but rigorous zines in bundles of five. This bundle model is intentional: it transforms readers into distributors, turning circulation into a communal act rather than a commercial transaction. A single purchase sends zines into living rooms, matatu stages, school libraries, community archives, and artists' collectives. Each bundle becomes a micro-network of knowledge production. In a country where traditional publishing infrastructures remain out of reach for most young artists and writers, this distribution strategy is as much a political intervention as it is a logistical one.
